Hello Parents and Friends,
We have had a wonderful start to Term 4 at school. Our students have settled straight back into school life and there has been fantastic learning taking place across the school. Our students have commenced their Term 4 inquiries and our Grade 1 students loved their minibeast incursion. Our Grade 5 students are preparing for school leadership in Grade 6 and they undertook an excellent ‘Lead It’ incursion to start the leadership selection process. We have had many of our students compete at sporting events with great success at the Manningham Division Athletics Carnival. Our Girls softball team and boys basketball teams won the Manningham Division final yesterday. Our Rounders teams are competing today. Finally, our Grade 3 and 4 students will be attending their school camps next week. We wish them the very best and we know they will have a fantastic time. This is only a snapshot of what is happening at our vibrant school. We can’t wait for the remainder of the term!
Have a great weekend!
Templestowe Park PS has been named State Winners for the fifth year in a row in the Maths Association of Victoria Maths Talent Quest (MTQ)! Three of our amazing classes were named state winners. This is the fifth year in a row that we have achieved being named as a state winner. To read all about this outstanding achievement click on the Learning @ TPPS tab. Congratulations to our students and teachers!
In the final week of Term 3, our outstanding senior students performed Finding Nemo Jr at the George Wood Performing Arts Centre. The performance of our students was nothing less than spectacular. I congratulate our students and thank our staff for the work they put into making this production a magnificent show. A special thank you goes to Ms Maddie Huber (Performing Arts Teacher) for her coordination and direction of our production. Maddie worked tirelessly in Term 3 to make our production an amazing experience for our students. I can’t thank her enough for this. Please see the amazing photos below.
Term 4 Curriculum overviews for all year levels were forwarded to parents via Compass yesterday. Within these overviews you will find what your child is learning in all curriculum areas, the Positive Education focus for the term, homework requirements, Specialist days and teacher contact details. Additionally, a letter about the mandatory Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships (RRRR) program was also attached to the Compass post. If you have any questions regarding the RRRR program or Topic 7, please feel free to contact Narelle Sime (Leading Teacher - Wellbeing) or Mark Roberts (Principal).
All term overviews are permanently kept in the Community Section of Compass (choose School Documentation from the dropdown menu, then School Community Information, then the year level folder that you wish to access).
Each year, TPPS put together a wonderful memento of our year at school together in the form of a Yearbook. The book includes reflections from students about their year together in the classroom and of the many special events that have taken place. Every class is represented. There are photos galore, with the book providing many hours of reminiscing for the future.
The 2025 Templestowe Park Yearbook is currently being produced and is available for sale. There is a quick turn-around time to get the orders in for printing, so if you would like to purchase one, please complete payment via Compass by SUNDAY 19th OCTOBER.
We ask that you let us know if you are considering moving or have enrolled at another school in 2026. We require this information as soon as possible in order to establish grade structures for the start of the new school year.
If your child is currently in Grades Prep to 5 and will not be at Templestowe Park in 2026, please notify the school office by emailing to:- templestowe.park.ps@education.vic.gov.au
Our 2026 Prep Orientation sessions are set to commence on Thursday, 30th October and we are all very excited to welcome our newest students. The future Preps will participate in four different transition sessions with the teachers. These sessions will allow the children and their parents to familiarise themselves with our school and to begin forming some friendships before next year.
The Orientation sessions are as follows:
Thursday, 30 October: 2.00 – 3.00pm
Thursday, 6 November: 2.00 – 3.00pm
Thursday, 13 November: 2.00 – 3.00pm
Thursday, 27 November: 9.15 – 10.30am (final Prep orientation session)
This is just a quick reminder that students are not permitted to arrive to school until 8:30am. There is no supervision for children before this time. Students that have an organised basketball training session and are being supervised by parents/adults can arrive earlier than 8:30am. Thank you for your cooperation.
I remind all families that school hats are compulsory in Term 4. The Grade 1-6 school slouch and legionnaire hats can be purchased from PSW online or in-store.
Our Grade Prep and Grade 1-6 legionnaires hats can be purchased from the onsite uniform shop.
