Performing Arts & Music

Foundation, Grade 1, 2 and 3 students have enjoyed an introduction to the Ukulele to begin Term 4. They were so excited to play their very own stringed instrument.
They learnt how to correctly hold a ukulele, how they are tuned, how to pick the strings and how to strum the strings and did so to a number of music tracks.
The Grade 2 and 3 students also learnt how to play two chords on the ukulele, C major and A minor. I was very impressed to see all students engaged and enthusiastic when playing the ukulele. The effort was outstanding!
The junior students have also just found out their Christmas concert songs and are ready to begin rehearsing lyrics and choreography. Exciting times ahead!
Australian Girls Choir Workshop
On the first day back of term, a number of students that had registered, attended the Australian Girls Choir workshop in the Discovery Center. I heard great feedback from some of the students who attended saying they really enjoyed the experience. A number of different singing and movement activities were performed on the day. Well done to all the students who were involved.
