Leadership @ MPS

Welcome back

Welcome to Term 4 everyone. It’s hard to believe we’ve reached the final stretch of the school year, but there’s still plenty to look forward to. This term promises to be a busy and exciting one, with a range of events, celebrations and opportunities for our students. Please take a moment to read through the 'Important Dates' section of this newsletter to make sure you’re across everything happening at MPS in the weeks ahead heading into the silly season.

Janene News

Thank you so much for the heartwarming messages, kind words and well wishes following my recent announcement. Your support has meant more to me than I can express and it truly reflects the warmth and generosity that defines our Monty community.

Your encouragement fuels my excitement for what lies ahead, while keeping my heart firmly rooted in this remarkable community. Thank you for making these 13 years truly unforgettable.

Uniform Focus

Since making student uniform a focus this term, we’ve seen a noticeable improvement across the school — thank you to all families for your support. This renewed pride in wearing the ful and correct MPS uniform has had a real impact on the look, feel and professionalism of our school community.

A reminder that as we are now in Term 4, full school uniform includes an approved SunSmart hat. Students should be wearing either a broad-brimmed, bucket or legionnaire style hat when outside and are encouraged to exhibit other SunSmart behaviours, including the application of sunscreen at school.

As we move forward, we want this positive change to become part of our everyday culture. Wearing the correct uniform, representing our green and gold with pride and maintaining consistency across our students all contribute to the strong sense of belonging that defines Montmorency Primary School.

Let’s continue this great momentum and ensure our high uniform standards remain a lasting part of who we are at MPS.

Melbourne Marathon – Run for Lily

A huge thanks to all of the MPS community members who recently took part in the Melbourne Marathon Festival. It was a day filled with sweat, love and plenty of laughter as our community banded together to raise funds to ensure Lily's Library stays stocked with amazing books for our students to enjoy.

By the time everyone had hung up their running shoes for the day, nearly $2,500 had been raised — another fantastic effort from our consistently supportive community. A special mention must go to the Cammack family, who organised their own fundraising campaign in support of Lily’s Library, which was generously backed by many MPS families and made up the large majority of the overall fundraising amount.

Mango Drive Fundraiser

We’re excited to announce our final fundraising event for the year – a Mango Drive! 🥭

Families can now order fresh Bowen Special Mangoes (formally known as Kensington Pride Mangoes) direct from the farm to Montmorency Primary School. These juicy, sun-ripened mangoes are the perfect way to celebrate the warmer months while supporting our school’s fundraising goals.

Cost: $30 per tray, each weighing around 7kg (roughly 12 to 23 mangoes, depending on size)

Order by: Wednesday, 29th of October

Link: Place your orders 👉here

Delivery is expected late November to early December, with exact pick-up dates to be confirmed closer to the time.

As with our recent fundraisers, all proceeds will go directly towards our solar panel installation, planned for January 2026. This upgrade will help Montmorency Primary School achieve net-zero energy consumption – a huge step towards a more sustainable future for our students and community. 🌞

Feel free to share the order link with family and friends — the more trays we sell, the more on an impact we will make!
