Kangaroo Class
Miss Moore
Welcome back everyone!
It has been so lovely hearing all about the students’ holidays and the exciting things they got up to. Everyone has returned with big smiles and plenty of stories to share! We’ve had a busy few weeks settling back into our school routines and are now well and truly back into the swing of learning. The students have been working hard and showing great enthusiasm, even though we can tell the tiredness is starting to creep in this week!
In Reading, we have been focusing on answering both literal and inferential comprehension questions. The students have enjoyed reading Luna’s Lost Hat, which has sparked lots of discussion about sequencing events, character feelings, and problem-solving in the story. It’s been wonderful to see students using evidence from the text to support their thinking and share their ideas during group discussions.
In Mathematics, we have been exploring doubles facts and friends of 10, using hands-on games and number activities to help build strong number fluency. The children have been practising quick recall and applying these strategies to addition problems in fun and engaging ways.
I'm so proud of how well everyone has settled back in and the effort they are putting into their learning.
