Dear parents, families and friends,
Please excuse the lateness of this edition of our newsletter. It has been an extremely busy two weeks. I have been in constant meetings as well as participating in the Catholic Missions Walk-A-Thon and visiting the students at the Sunshine Pool for the Years 3 - 6 Colour House Swimming Carnival.

The move has well and truly begun. The Preps are now settled into their new classroom. The 1/2s had moved over by Friday and they will begin settling in this week.

Week 8 - Wednesday 26th November - Moving furniture and resources for Year 3/4s into LOTE and STEM rooms.
Working Bees
On each Wednesday afternoon (5th, 12th, 19th, 26th November) from 3.30pm to 4.30pm there is a working bee to assist staff with moving furniture and resources. A staff member will be available to supervise childrens in the junior playground if required.
This Saturday 8th November from 10am to 4pm we wil hold the next of our big working bees. We will need as many helpers as possible as there are a number of big tasks to do. In particular we need to build the gazebo next to the school garden and assemble the new BBQ and outdoor kitchen. We particularly need parents and family members with carpentry and assembly skills.
A very big thank you to all parents and family members who have helped out at each of our working bees so far. Your assistance is invaluable.
Book Launch
Potrick the Caterpillar, the book that all the students contributed to creating during Book Week, is being printed at the moment. We are going to hold an official Book Launch on Friday 28th November during school assembly at 2.30pm. The Deputy Mayor of Maribyrnong will be joining us to help launch Potrick the Caterpillar. We will present her with copies of the book to be placed in local libraries around the City of Maribyrnong.
Orders can be made via https://www.trybooking.com/DFQPA , but be sure to get in quick!

Bendigo Bank Grant Success!
We’re excited to share that our school has received a $1,000 Bendigo Bank community grant, from the Seddon branch, to expand our decodable reader library for 2026. These books will continue to support us helping our students build strong phonics, reading, and comprehension skills. This funding, along with our continued Parents & Friend's contribution, will give our students more opportunities to practise, gain confidence, and enjoy reading.
Thank you to Miss Librizzi for successfully applying for this grant.
