From the Principal

Mr Matt Elson

Hello Gympie, East parents, carers and community,

Welcome back to the final term of the year! It is always great to return to school and see the kids and find out how their holidays were. Term 4 is always a huge term in schools and I'm sure we will be talking about Christmas Concert and report cards before we know it. Teachers will be emailing out a welcome back letter with a curriculum snapshot for Term 4 by the end of this week. Please check in with your child's class teacher if you haven't received it by next week, as it has all of the subjects and what students will be learning about so you can stay informed. Please also check the dates in this newsletter as there are many upcoming events and dates to be aware of.

Mrs Ireland will be on leave for all of Term 4. We will look forward to welcoming Mrs Ireland back in 2026. Ms Bridget Peart will be working from Monday to Wednesday in the Office in the short term starting next week.

We will be starting swimming lessons in Term 4 at the Aquatic Centre on Tozer Rd. All lessons and bus costs will be free. Swimming will be every Friday commencing in Week 3 on Friday 24th October and will end in Week 8 on Friday 28th November. Please contact your child's classroom teacher if you did not receive a note.

Our Tuckshop is struggling for volunteers. I emailed out a link to register as a volunteer early this week and today I have also sent a text to families asking for help. If we do not get helpers, we may have to cancel tuckshop on the days where there is not enough volunteers. This is a drastic step but Amy cannot run the Tuckshop alone. Thankyou for your understanding.

We have our 2nd last P&C meeting for the year next Thursday 16th October starting at 3:30pm in the STEM Room. We would love to see you there!

Thanks

Mr Matt Elson
