Year 7 Debating Team

Congratulations to one of our D-Grade Debating teams for their efforts at a recent competition. 

The Debaters Association of Victoria held the first round of finals at Lowther Hall Anglican Grammar School on the evening of Thursday 17 August. One of our D-Grade teams qualified, so headed off to compete.  

Mannus Clark (7 Aherne), Anika Tadakamadla (7 Frew) and Jacob Markoff (8 Frew) spent considerable hours writing their debate on the topic ‘That students should elect their school principal’.  They debated the negative side.  They lost to a Year 10 team from Xavier College.  

All agreed it was an excellent learning opportunity and a great (and very long) night out.

Eliza Oxley

Congratulations to Eliza Oxley (12 Jenkin) who was recognised as a Rising Star in the Bendigo Football Netball League (BFNL) for Sandhurst. 

"Eliza's height is her greatest asset and her strength ensures every rebound is hers. She is a great shot and a fantastic rebounder."

Aarya, Ayaan and Aarna Sapehiyia

Congratulations to Aarya (7 Riley), Ayaan (5 Riley) and Aarna Sapehiyia (2 Riley), who competed in the second annual Badminton Victoria Bendigo Junior Classic on 29 July.

Aarya placed inside the top 8 in the 9 and above Girls Singles, as well as first in the 7/8 Doubles. Ayaan placed inside the top 4  in the 5/6 Singles, as well as first in the 5/6 Singles. Aarna placed inside the top 20 in the 5/6 Singles, finishing first in the 5/6 Singles.
