On Tuesday the 8th of August, two Gr5/6 Debating Teams were involved in the Royal South Street Debating Competition. One team was the negative side of the debate topic, ‘Winter is the best season.’ Our other team was the affirmative side of the argument, ‘Parents should have control of their children’s social media accounts.’

The students did the school proud on the day, speaking with confidence and articulating their arguments very well. They received many positive comments and helpful feedback from the adjudicator. The experience on the day of participating and watching other teams also helps us plan for future success. Their performance was a credit to all the hard work they have put in during their weeks of preparation. Well done!
