Term 3 is coming to an end as the weather warms up and school holidays are in sight. Lalor hosted its 2023 book week in week seven. It was fantastic to see so many staff and students dressed up and participating in the fun.

We have had a number of excursions running this term across all year levels. Our students were fortunate to have two Shakespearean performances this term with the Macbeth and Romeo and Juilet incursions. As well as the senior biology excursions to Melbourne Zoo and tip to Melbourne University. Our humanities students have been on a few excursions lately, with the Year 7 student visiting Melbourne Zoo and year 8 students to Kryal Castle. Interschool competitions have continued as well with chess tournaments, basketball, and table tennis all heading out recently. It has been great to see our student engaged in so many activities.

Coming up is the Victorian State Schools Spectacular which will be occurring on the 9th of September. A number of our student have been working hard as a part of the mass choir and are very much looking forward to performing this weekend. A special mention goes out to Amelia Apostololpoulos in 10G who is one of this year’s principal dancers. Well done to Miss Allen and the student on their hard work.

The SRC is running its second out of uniform day for the term on Friday the 8th of September. The theme of the day is “Footy Colours Day”. Students are encouraged to wear a top of their favourite football team. Football could be in any variety of the code (AFL, NRL, Soccer etc..). A gold coin donation is required. Please keep an eye on compass for details.
