Sport News
We have some wonderful programs on offer for term 3 during lunchtimes, before school as well as our interschool sports training sessions and competitions.
Coaching and officiating courses
Year 9 and 10 students have been offered the opportunity to complete coaching or officiating courses in Tennis and Netball. All costs are covered as part of the Sporting Schools grant received for term 3.
Football Victoria Female Referee Free Accreditation Program - Secondary School Female Students
What is Involved:
This accreditation gives female students the chance to learn the skills required via our online learning platform, advancing to a practical session where there is coaching, and guidance provided by the Football Victoria referees team.
Following this, students will be accredited to referee games in their local area and earn some income while doing so. The FV referee appointments team will ensure the students once accredited, only receive games at young age group while they are still learning the role.
The entire process is safe and controlled with the FV team here to provide support to help students achieve their accreditation! Usually, the cost of same offering is $147 per participant so if enrolling a group of female students for free this is huge value to the students and school.
Sports teams representing LSC this team for year 7-10 are:
- Hockey
- Basketball
- Table tennis
State cross country
Congratulations to Allen Tran who represented Lalor SC at the SSV Cross Country State Championships earlier this term. In his first timing running at Yarra Valley Race Course, Allen finished in 37th place out of 90 competitors in the 17-20 year old boys 5km race. Making it to this level is a huge achievement!
SSV Team Vic Representation
The School Sport Australia Rugby League 12 Years and Under Championships finished recently and the Team Vic lads brought home a much-deserved bronze.
Congratulations to our very own Oz Luamanu who represented Lalor SC and Victoria!
