Planet Ark's National Tree Day started in 1996 and has grown into Australia's largest community tree planting and nature care event. It's a call to action for all Australians to get their hands dirty and give back to the community.
St Brigid's School celebrated National Tree Day with the generosity of the Port Adelaide Enfield City Council and their 'Get Shady' Project. Port Adelaide Enfield City Council kindly offered our community new trees. Our SRC members (Haseeb - Year 6, Elisa - Year 4, Amy - Year 3, Mohammad - Year 2, Daniel - Year 1, and Farwa - Year 1) identified the garden and nature as areas they would like to improve in the St Brigid's Community. With the helpful guidance of Ms Pauline, our SRC members were able to witness their idea become a reality! Through the generosity of the PAE City Council, we now have two Jacaranda trees in our beautiful community.
A big thank you to the Port Adelaide Enfield City Council! We're all looking forward to seeing what our SRC members do next for our school community.
