Science Week

The theme for Science Week was Innovation: Powering Future Industries. This theme incorporated the advancement in technology in all industries, especially using artificial intelligence (AI). We were very fortunate to secure a highly engaging incursion facilitated by Street Science. Of course, Science Week isn't Science Week without Elephant Toothpaste.

Thanks to Jock the Year 6 STEAM Captain for his excellent demonstration of what happens when you mix Mentos and Diet Coke.

Lego Masters Jnr

A very dedicated group of Year 5 students organised the inaugural Prep / Year 1 Lego Master Jnr Competition on Thursday 7th September. This event was planned and organised during this group of students' lunch breaks over several weeks.

Well done to Jasper, Reid, Alex, Molly, Isla, Finn L, Tom, Maia, Maya. Charlie H and Taj for showing selflessness and being CONTRIBUTORS by supporting our school community.

Each Prep/Year 1 team had a theme. The winning team built an abandoned theme park, created an interesting story and demonstrated numerous learner assets.

EduTech

The School Captains, Mr Portaro and I attended EduTech Australia 2023. There was a heavy AI focus this year and we talked to numerous vendors about possible opportunities to further enrich our students understanding of all things STEAM.

Year 3/4 Claymation

Next term we will be holding the inaugural EPS Claymation Film Festival.

Engineering workshop

Recently, we were very happy to be involved in a pilot workshop facilitated by Arcadis. Students were exposed to different engineering careers and took place in a 'floating house' activity using design thinking.

This workshop was incredibly successful and we will be looking to roll it out to more students next year.

Stay tuned for another big term!
