Winter Sport Round 5

Round 5 of the Winter sport program against Colac South West was cancelled due to poor weather.  This will now take place in Term 4.  A date will be announced early next term.

 

Greater Western Athletics

Good luck to the Sacred Heart students who will represent the Colac Division and compete at the Greater Western Athletics next Term on Friday 6th October. This event will take place at the Ballarat Athletics Club in York Street. Students will travel by bus to this event, which will leave from the St Mary’s Church carpark at 7:30am sharp. The bus will return to the St Mary’s Church carpark at 4:00pm. More information about the day is on PAM.  The following students will be competing at this event - Regan Smart, Sophie Wheadon,  Zoe Medley, Alfie Doyle, Jemma Howat, Dusty McCrimmon, Brock Jamieson, Felix Dare, Emmanual Mathoat, Phoebe Robb, Roy Scott, Ruby Hay, Bodhi Baker, Hudson Oborne, Ewan Gleeson, Nash Charles, Tahlia Kelly, Natalie Farquharson, Manny Robb, Reuben Duncan, Fred Melville, Harper Van Doorn, Olivia Horner, Stella Foley, Jyda Randle, Astin McCrimmon, Zahra Meade, Evie McDonald and Livi Harris.  (Please complete Permission details on PAM for your child).

 

Year 5 and 6 Swimming Lessons 

The Year 5 and 6 swimming program takes place in Term 4 at Bluewater. This is part of the school curriculum, so it is important that all the students support this program. The dates for swimming are as follows:

Name: Olivia Widdicombe (Yr 6 KT)

1. Which sport is your favourite to play and why? My favourite sport is netball because I have played since I was really young and I love the game.

2. What is your best sporting moment? My best sporting moment was when I made the Colac Tigers netball team this year.

3. Which strengths do you believe you have that make you a good athlete? The strengths that I have that make me a good athlete is that I am tall and I put a lot of effort into my netball and other games that I play.

4. Why do you love playing sports? I love playing sport because it is competitive and I am ‘SO’ competitive.

5. Who is your favourite sports person? Mwai Kumwenda Why are they your favourite? She is one of my favourite players because she is a great goalie for the Melbourne Vixens.

6. What is your favourite sporting team? My favourite sporting team ins the Melbourne Vixens netball team.

 

 

Name: Archie Allan (Yr 6 TR)

1. Which sport is your favourite to play and why? My favourite sport is basketball because I like playing with my friends and I like trying to get the rebounds.

2. What is your best sporting moment? My best sporting moment was when after a game of basketball, all of the parents of my team said that I deserved to be named the ‘Most Valuable Player’. I was very happy that they thought this.

3. Which strengths do you believe you have that make you a good athlete? The strengths that I have in basketball is that I am okay at rebounding the ball off the ring and I try hard at defending.

4. Why do you love playing sports? I love playing sport because I love the fun I have when I am playing.

5. Who is your favourite sports person? Patrick Dangerfield Why are they your favourite? Patrick Dangerfield is my favourite sports person because he is a fantastic player for the Cats.

6. What is your favourite sporting team? My favourite sports team is the Geelong Cats.

 

 

Name: Brady Hickey (Yr 5 JR)

1. Which sport is your favourite to play and why? My favourite sport is Dirt Bike riding because it is a sport that I can compete against my brother Louis.

2. What is your best sporting moment? My best sporting moment was when I got my Kawasaki KLX140 Dirtbike Motorcyle.

3. Which strengths do you believe you have that make you a good athlete? My biggest strength in football is that I can kick the football a long way.

4. Why do you love playing sports? I love playing sport because I get to play with my mates and I have a lot of fun with them.

5. Who is your favourite sports person? My favourite sports person is Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti. Why are they your favourite? He was my favourite player for Essendon because he was a great football player who had a lot of speed and was good at kicking goals.

6. What is your favourite sporting team? Essendon Football team
