Year 3/4 Camp

On Wednesday 24th of August, students in Years 3 and 4 set off on an adventure to Oasis Camp at Mount Evelyn. For many of the year 3s and some of the year 4s, this was their first time away from home. Regardless, the year 3 & 4s all had an amazing attitude and made sure they attempted all the different activities to make the best of their camp experience.

We were lucky enough to have some excellent weather to enjoy many of the activities hosted by the camp instructors. These activities included archery, candle making, flying fox, crate climb, enviro-walk, low ropes and an exploration of the camp’s very own reptile house.

Some activities were big hits amongst the students and here are some of what they enjoyed most at camp:

Melissa – “I liked all the activities we did, especially the candle making.”

Deborah – “I liked all the food, especially the desserts.”

Heidi – “Candle making is something everyone should look forward to at this camp.”

Alice – “I loved being loud in my cabin with all my friends.”

Isaac & Jamie – “We enjoyed playing in the games room.”

Maggie – “I enjoyed candle making because it was very calming.”

Grace – “The flying fox was scary in the beginning because it felt like I was going to hit the plants, but I really enjoyed it!”

Nathan – I liked going on the flying fox, because I felt like Kong Kong hanging on at the top.”

Lindsey – “I liked crate climbing when all the crates fell down and I got to swing from my harness.”

Indie – “I liked the reptile house because we got to touch them and learn so much about them.”

Micah – “I liked being a belayer during crate climbing, because I liked having the responsibility to keep people safe.”

Bryan – “The food was delicious, especially the ice-cream!”

Jackson – “I really enjoyed candle making, and watching it grow as I kept dipping.”

Isla – “I really like being creative and doing crafts, so candle making was one of my favourite activities."

Overall, students had a great camp experience and many of them can’t wait to go again next year!
