Book Week 2023 (August 21st - 25th)

Our Book Week Parade will be held this 

Friday the 25th August.

Weather permitting, we will line up on the basketball court to showcase our costumes with the parade commencing at 9:00am. 

(If it rains, we will relocate to the hall)

 

FAMILIES ARE VERY WELCOME TO ATTEND

All students are encouraged to dress up as their favourite book character for a day!!

We will have the music ready to dance around the court for everyone to see!!

 

 

What a sensational start to Book Week for St Simon’s this year!!

 

Felice Arena spent Friday the 18th August with our students and shared his energy and love for Reading and Writing (as well as drawing and dancing!!).

 

Our students from Foundation to Year 3 were kept entertained with readings from The Besties series before taking their familiar swimming strokes and putting them to music to everyone’s delight. Felice then read from his latest picture story book ‘Pasta’ which he followed up with a guided sketch of the cat eating a bowl of pasta!!

 

Year 4-Year 6 students were immersed in a research journey detailing how Felice helps books like; The Boy and the SpyFearless FredericThe Great Escape and The Unstoppable Flying Flanagan, to be authentic and engaging.

He shared with our students where they can find ideas for their writing, how they can always improve their work and more importantly how writing can be such a joy!
