Farming and a Pet Vet Clinic in Kindergarten

Our youngest students at NCS have been planting some vegetables in the vegetable garden behind our classrooms. We will watch cucumbers, beetroot, lettuce and tomatoes grow slowly over time. Hopefully, we will get to taste our veggies at the end of the term. We are so grateful to Mr and Mrs White for organising this for us. In class, we are learning about The Farm. We now know where wheat comes from and that pizza dough, cookies and bread are made from wheat. We even touched and passed around some real wheat.

A Pet Vet Clinic has popped up in the back corner of our room. And our little vets have been busy taking the temperature, listening to the heart beat and bandaging our sick rabbits, horses and dogs. It has been an exciting start to Term 4.

Burkina Faso

Year 8 have been learning about the extent of the French-speaking world (with French speaking countries on every continent except Australia).

We completed the unit by looking at missionary work in Burkina Faso - What is missionary work? Why go? Why Burkina Faso?

Ask your child how well they know the countries of Africa - Nick and Myles were amazing at this task! How do you pronounce the name of the capital city: Ouagadougou? Who is this young man?
