Principal's Message

Linda Buckeridge: Principal

Welcome back to Term 4! With just over 11 weeks in this term and one already down, I have a feeling it will fly by quite quickly!

CONGRATULATIONS

I'd like to express my sincere congratulations to Shiona Watson and the staff of the ELC and OSHC programs. Throughout Term 3 the ELC and OSHC teams participated in an assessment of the education and care their services provide against the National Quality Standard.  I am very proud to report that an overall rating of EXCEEDING the National Quality Standard was achieved. We are every aware how diligently all of our staff work within these spaces and the passion they have for seeing each child flourish and succeed, so it is wonderful to receive such high level feedback for the services that are provided to the Hillsmeade community. Well done to all involved!

THANK YOU

As mentioned in the last newsletter of Term 3, the annual school Colour Explosion fun run was an enormous success! We have raised approx. $20,000 for the school and I am so grateful to each and every one of our students and their supporting friends and families for the contributions that were made. As requested by the students, this money will now be put towards a GAGA PIT. Gaga ball is an energetic team based game that can be played by students of any age group, providing hours of friendly competition and fun! In conjunction, we have decided to also build a sandpit for students year 2 and above, within the grassed area of Chloe's Garden. We hope to see these spaces being constructed throughout Term 4.
