Around The Primary
Dear Families
Welcome back! I hope this recent holiday break provided families with opportunities to reconnect at home and within the wider community.
Our school community is a place where belonging and relationships are paramount. We often speak about the ‘John XXIII family’ and the sense of unity and support that defines us. Just like the bonds within our own families, our school community thrives on our shared sense of purpose, values and belonging. In times of need or challenge, the strength of our community truly shines.
As we navigate the final term of the school year, let us cherish the spirit of belonging within our school community and recognise its profound impact on our student's lives. I am looking forward to celebrating the many times for connection (including Grandparents Picnic, Liturgies, Assemblies, Junior Primary Athletics Carnival, Year 6 Farewell Celebrations, and other special events) we will have within the school community across the term and sharing in the journey of growth and learning with your children.
Wishing you all a wonderful term ahead, filled with a strong sense of belonging, support, and celebration.
Kind regards
Antoinette De Pinto
Head of Primary

Pre-Primary Music
Pre-Primary students have been studying high and low sounds, in particular, noting that size is related to pitch. The students retold the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears with musical additions, and then matched the characters (according to size/pitch) with instruments from the string family; the violin, viola, cello and double bass. The students were amazed at the size of the double bass and enjoyed comparing their heights with those of the instruments.
