PRINCIPAL UPDATE

Grade 6 students enjoyed a fabulous three days away last week in Healesville. Although the weather turned miserable, and Healesville Sanctuary had to be cancelled, I thank quick thinking staff that arranged a visit to the Chocolate Factory.

Thank you to our parent volunteers that joined in the fun, along with the students and the staff for their organisation of this event.

Well done to the grade 6 basketball teams for participation in the Divisions last Friday.  Thank you to Matt C and parents that volunteered their time to support the teams.

I am very much looking forward to the Trivia night on Saturday at the Croatian Club in Bell Park.  Please ensure tickets are purchased by this evening.  There is a wonderful array of prizes, silent and live auction items along with our Trivia master and Band.

I look forward to seeing those in attendance on Saturday evening.

We are looking forward to using any funds raised on the evening to install lush astroturf in the area between both playgrounds on Huntingdon St for children to enjoy during break times and families on weekends.

After a wonderful career as an educator, Jeff Smith is retiring at the end of this year.  Jeff has worked across multiple schools during his time as a teacher, and many years here at Chilwell.  We will celebrate with Jeff later in the term but commend him on his wonderful teaching career and achievements within that time.

A reminder to all families that Lost Property has been relocated to the main building just outside the performing Arts room.   Please note there is already a lot of items in this, and we have only been back for just over a week.  I ask all families to ensure jumpers are clearly labelled please.

Kind regards,

Meg
