School Volunteer of the Year
We are thrilled to announce that Port Melbourne Primary School has been honored with the prestigious School Volunteers of the Year award at the Resource Smart Schools award ceremony! This remarkable achievement was celebrated on Tuesday, June 4th, at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
This accolade is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and passion of our incredible volunteers who have tirelessly contributed to our school’s sustainability programs. From organizing working bees to leading garden club, our volunteers have been the backbone of our sustainability initiatives.
A special mention to Anthony, Melinda, Megan, Spiros, Sondhya and Callie and their amazing network of volunteers who devote their time to making our school an environmentally friendly and sustainable place for our children to learn in.
The Resource Smart Schools program recognizes schools across Victoria for their outstanding efforts in promoting sustainability and environmental awareness. Winning this award highlights our school’s commitment to fostering a culture of sustainability and community engagement.
Congratulations once again to everyone involved, and let’s keep the momentum going as we strive for an even greener future!
Our Sustainability Leaders, Matilda and Jacob, spoke beautifully when receiving the award at the ResourceSmart School Awards.
Proud Port Behaviours
Our Proud Port Behaviours and Proud Port Points have been in action for a term and a half now and we have seen positive engagement across the school. With students engaging in explicitly taught Proud Port Behaviour lessons, being celebrated with their Proud Port Points and our staff have undertaken some specific Professional Development on supportive behaviour management strategies.
We celebrated our term 1 winners recently, culminating with our overall winners, 5ABs Pizza Picnic at the Dragon Park, a well-deserved reward. Congratulations also to our junior winners 1BC and our senior winners 6AB.
Mrs K, Miss Kristen and Miss Caitlin have also enjoyed visits from lots of weekly class winners to choose a prize from the PPP Prize Box.
