THE JAPANESE WORD OF THE FORTNIGHT

だいじょうぶ (pronounced ‘daijohbu’) which means ‘alright’ is the Japanese Word for Week 6 & 7 of Term 2.

You can ask, saying ’だいじょうぶ?’ (‘daijohbu’) to someone who looks unwell / hurt or upset to show your kindness instead of saying ‘Are you alright?’.  As an answer, you can also say ‘だいじょうぶ (‘daijohbu’)’ to mean ‘I’m alright’.

Thank you / ありがとうございます (pronounced ‘aligatoh gozaimas’) for your continuing support for our Japanese program.
