What's happening?

AEDC & WEC

During this term, 2 areas of data collection have been undertaken that look at student wellbeing in different ways. Our year 4-6 students have all been part of the annual Wellbeing and Engagement Collection (WEC) which looks at how they feel in different aspects of their life including school, activities they participate in out of school and general wellbeing. This is conducted anonymously using an online platform and we will analyse this data once we receive it to determine ways to support our students.

Reception teachers have participated in the Australian Early Development Census which is conducted nationwide every 3 years. It is a future predictor of development and learning and looks at how early childhood programs are preparing children for school and allows target resources and programs to be developed to support children’s and family’s wellbeing.

Community Library

V7 have recently set up a Community Library in the corridor outside their classroom. There are lots of great books in there and students are welcome to take a book home to read. They can then return it afterwards and if there are any books they have at home, they can also donate them to the library for others to read by dropping them into the Community Hub .

State Budget Announcement

As part of the 2024-25 State Budget, eligible families with school-aged children will receive a $200 discount per child on their public school’s materials and services charge for 2025. This is double the discount provided for 2022, 2023 and 2024.

Uniforms

It's been great to see most of our students wearing school uniform this term. Uniform is an important part of belonging to our school community and following our whole school expectations and we are happy to support anyone having difficulty in sourcing the items included in our guidelines. As the weather is getting colder, jumpers and jackets are needed, particularly in the mornings but please remember that plain green or school uniform jackets and jumpers are the only items that are part of our Dress Code. We understand that an item may not be available for a child to wear at times but do ask that this is communicated with your child's class teacher so we can support.

Our uniform shop has well priced items for sale. These can be purchased from the office or on Qkr!

Values Awards

Our Values Awards are announced at each assembly. Staff are looking to acknowledge students who are demonstrating any of our 3 values, Respect, Honesty and Courage, throughout the school day. This could be in learning time, when moving around the school or visiting different areas such as the office. Below are our winners from the week 10 assembly.
