The program at OSHC this week has focused on games, we have been playing a mixture of inside board and card games such as uno, Jenga and go fish along with outside games, a favorite has been Ship Shark Shore!  Games such as these improve sharing, team building and many more important life skills that we like to teach through play-based learning. We have been having SO MUCH FUN! If we are not playing games, we a crafting the children have created the ultimate paper chain octopus to bring life and colour into our space.

STAFFING ANNOUNCEMENTS

New Service Coordinator - Lily Hartley

I would like to introduce myself. I am Lily, and I will be the new coordinator replacing Charlotte. I have many years experience working with children and have been with TheirCare for five years. Along with OSHC I was an integration aid at Upwey Primary school for the past seven years. Before starting here, I was the Step-Up Coordinator at Macclesfield Primary school. Working with children is a great passion of mine; getting to know their interest and little personalities and helping them grow in any way I can, fills me with so much joy. I cannot wait to meet your kids and play games, craft and facilitate the awesome program we create here at TheirCare.

Our staffing strucutre for Semester Two is detailed below:

Permanent educators - Lily, Harry

Casual educators - Adelle, Oriane

Holiday program coordinators- Lily & Denise (coordinator at Ferny creek Primary school)

Staffing arrangement often change due to the needs for the service and growing numbers, there will be some new faces, but we understand consistency is important in building connections and creating a strong sense of wellbeing for our children.

Before and After School Care

Before-School Care and After-School Care is available each weekday, with the following hours of operation:

Foundation students- Term Three update to be aware of for student collection

From the commencement of Term Three, we will begin transitioning our Foundation students to move independently from their classrooms to after school care.

Working alonsgside teachers, our staff will support students with this transition over the first fortnight. We understand the transition may present some initial challenges, however we will have staff communicating visually outside of the OSHC building and the classrooms; being there to support students as required.

Please ensure you tell your child and/or their classroom teacher about your booking days. If necessary, we suggest tying something to the bag to remind them, we have some key chains available if needed.

We look forward to seeing our Foundation students grow in their confidence to move to and from the service ready for when they are in Grade One.
