2024 QGSSSA Cross Country Championships

The upcoming QGSSSA Cross Country Championships are nearing, and we're excited to challenge our winning streak from last year's Percentage Cup triumph. Following months of intense training, we're eager to demonstrate our progress come race day. We invite our entire school community to join us in cheering on our athletes as they vie against fellow QGSSSA schools.
To our team, as they prepare to tackle the demanding course, we extend our heartfelt wishes for success. The 2024 CC Croc Squad stands ready to rally behind them, showcasing our school spirit and cheering for victory!
All Secondary School students are required to attend a major inter-school sporting event during the year to act as a supporting spectator. Supporting inter-school sporting events is an integral part of school life providing students with opportunities to positively contribute to the spirit of our community.
House Leaders will be awarding 1 house point to every student that attends, which will contribute to the 2024 House points tally in awarding the 2024 Champion House.
Additionally, there's a chance to win this year's Spectator Lululemon Prize: a cap, crossbody bag, water bottle, and a $100 Lululemon voucher. It's your opportunity to showcase that true Clayfield College spirit.
Please note, if you are a competitor in the QGSSSA Cross Country Championships, you are not required to complete the information below.
Clayfield College will provide transport to and from John Paul College. Buses will depart from Bayview Terrace at 7:30am and return by approximately 12:30pm.
Please bring morning tea and a water bottle. Boarders will be provided with morning tea and refreshments.
Students must wear their Winter uniform, including blazer and hat.

Clayfield College Gymnasts Shine Bright at the 2024 Australian Championships
The dazzling arena of the 2024 Australian Gymnastics Championships has witnessed high stakes and remarkable performances. Among the stars who have been gracing the arena are three outstanding Clayfield College gymnasts: Lindsay Webb, Iara Chaves, and Christina Anictomatis. Their impact on the competition has been nothing short of extraordinary.
Lindsay Webb: A Golden Journey
Lindsay Webb, a force to be reckoned with, was a member of the Queensland Level 9 team to clinch the coveted gold medal. Her flawless routines showcased unparalleled skill, precision, and unwavering determination.
In the individual events, Lindsay fiercely competed in the Level 9, 15 years and under category, securing an admirable 5th place among the nation’s elite gymnasts.
Her exceptional performance in the vault earned her a well-deserved bronze medal, while her prowess on the uneven bars landed her in a commendable 4th position overall. Lindsay’s dedication to her training is a testament to hard work paying off and dreaming big and loud.
Iara Chaves: Rising Star
Iara Chaves, part of the Queensland Level 8 team, displayed remarkable poise and talent, contributing significantly to the team’s victory. In the individual All Around competition, Iara currently sits in first place after Day 1, with Day 2 of competition ahead.
Christina Anictomatis: Junior International team success
Christina showcased her prowess on the Junior International Queensland team, securing a well-deserved silver medal in the team’s event.
Her performances were spectacular, cementing her status as a formidable competitor. In the All-Round competition, Christina finished commendably in 9th place overall and delivered a brilliant performance on the beam, securing 6th place.
The future looks exceedingly bright for these young athletes as they continue to defy expectations and reach for the stars.
Celebrating Jessie-Rose's Triumph at the Australian Open Karate Championships
We are thrilled to share the incredible success of Jessie-Rose, who recently made an impression at the Australian Open Karate Championships hosted at the Whitlam Leisure Centre in Liverpool, NSW.
Jessie-Rose's involvement didn't conclude with her participation in the championships. Following the championships, Jessie-Rose was selected in the Cadet, Juniors, and U21 Australia team training camp. Her unwavering dedication to refining her craft and her aspirations to represent Australia on the global stage serve as a true inspiration to us all.

Britton Shield Cross Country
Under the brilliant sunshine at Limestone Park, our dedicated Britton Shield runners eagerly lined up at the start line for the annual Britton Shield Cross Country competition. Their training paid off, securing an impressive 2nd place overall. Individual achievements were equally outstanding, with several runners claiming top 3 spots.
Highlights
The all-age relay team powered through some tough competition to secure another 2nd place victory.
True Clayfield spirit shone brightly as Darwin and Hank selflessly supported a fallen teammate during the race. They stepped out of the competition to walk alongside their friend, ensuring they weren’t left alone.
The event was filled with heartwarming moments of camaraderie and sportsmanship. Each competitor gave their all, embodying true Clayfield spirit. We couldn’t be prouder!
