Mrs Audrey Fellowes - Deputy Principal/Head of Primary
Thank you to Mrs Skerrett who has taught 4O in Mr O’Rourke’s absence over the past few weeks. We look forward to welcoming Mr O’Rourke back next Monday.
We also welcome Mrs Libby Beauchamp who will take 2P for the remainder of the year. Mrs Beauchamp’s experience in the independent school setting, having taught at St Aiden’s, Fairholme College and Pymble Ladies College, will provide stability and a smooth transition for 2P and the Year 2 cohort. I sincerely thank Mrs Finney for stepping in and teaching 2P, with the support of Mrs Wake and Mrs Bailey, throughout a time that has been difficult for all concerned.
For students in Years 1 - 5 who wish to leave their device at school, please sign the waiver on Parent Lounge and let your child’s teacher know. You will need to provide an extra charger (charging plug and cable for the device which the IT Team will tag and test and it will remain at school (this is an amendment to the original communication). It is the College’s recommendation that students take their device home each night; however, we are providing lockable trolleys as we understand the weight of school bags and the attraction of devices at home can be challenging.
Homework Club is available to students from Year 3 onwards in the Lower LRC on Monday to Thursday from 3:15pm - 5:00pm. In order to attend, Primary students must be registered via email to studentservices@clayfield.qld.edu.au . As places fill up very quickly, you are encouraged to book in early for the day you would like to attend. Further, Primary students must be signed out by a parent or caregiver from the Lower LRC. Students are not permitted to leave the Lower LRC unattended by a parent or caregiver unless they are moving to a co-curricular activity. Parents must inform Student Services of this activity when registering their child.
All students using this facility are expected to adhere to the Clayfield College Positive Behaviour Framework. Thank you so very much for your assistance with these processes.
On Friday 17 May, Pre-Prep to Year 3 students will participate in games and activities to celebrate Under 8s Week in Lessons 1 and 2.
Pre-Prep to Year 3 students can come to school in their HPE uniforms on that day. Parents can look out for photos on Class Dojo of the games and activities the teachers will run.
