Principal Report

Welcome back to another actions packed newsletter. We have had an extremely busy couple of weeks.

On Friday, we held our annual Athletics Carnival. Despite the weather it was a very successful day. It was great to see so many students turn up ready to give it a go! Thank you to Katie Rossington for all her organisation of the day and also thank you to all staff and community members who assisted on the day. We appreciate the teamwork it takes to make a carnival a success for our students. As we still have a few events still to be completed due to the weather, we will hold off on our article this week. Be sure to check out the wonderful photos that were taken on the day by Mrs Kelly Gaden and results in our next newsletter.

Congratulations to Mia Baker for her remarkable achievement in being selected for the NSWCHSSA Rugby 7’s Opens Girls team. Mia will be representing NSW at Pittwater Park, Warringah, at the end of June. It's fantastic to see your hard work and dedication pay off!

Uniforms - As the weather gets colder, our stock of jumpers is depleting rapidly. If you have any school uniforms that your children have outgrown or no longer need, we would be incredibly grateful for your donations. Your generosity will help ensure that all our students stay warm and comfortable. Thank you for your support!

Students in Years 7 to 10 have now completed their mid-year assessments, and teachers are diligently working on preparing their half-yearly reports. These reports will provide valuable insights into students' progress and areas for improvement.

For Year 11 students, half-yearly reports will be emailed and made accessible on the Sentral Portal this week. Please check your emails and the portal for these important updates. If you encounter any difficulties accessing the reports, don't hesitate to contact the school for assistance.

We are thrilled to see many of our team sports advancing to the next rounds in their competitions. Organising knockout competitions comes with its challenges, such as coordinating permission notes and arranging buses. To stay informed, please check your emails regularly, ensure permission notes are returned electronically, and make necessary payments promptly. No student should miss out due to financial constraints. If you need assistance with bus travel payments, please contact the school. All inquiries will be kept strictly confidential.

This week is  National Reconciliation Week. The theme is "Now More Than Ever." This week is all about learning, reflecting, and taking action to build a fairer and more inclusive Australia. We honor the unique histories, cultures, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and commit to creating a future where everyone is included and respected.

What is Reconciliation?

Reconciliation is about building better relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians. It's recognising and healing from our past, which includes the painful history of land dispossession, violence, and racism. Over the last 50 years, we’ve made important progress, but there’s still much work to do. Reconciliation is a continuous journey, requiring dedication and effort from all of us.

Our Commitment to Reconciliation

We are committed to providing education that respects and celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.

All children, regardless of their background,  should have the same opportunities and life chances. We envision a society where your life’s quality and length aren’t determined by your race.
