PIANO CLASSES

Learning music in a group setting teaches so much more than just playing the piano. We are learning to play as a group, listen and process what is happening around us, while also learning to execute what we need to do for our part. Perhaps most importantly - our Junior Keys classes are FUN! Singing, percussion, movements - there's so much going on. Our students just LOVE learning with us. 

Our Junior Keys students learn to become confident as well as amazing ensemble performers and are better equipped for a life-long engagement with music, all while having a blast! 

Here is why we advocate learning in a group:-

In Piano Keys, the learning style is similar to the Junior Keys Course. It is also taught in a group setting and is  tailored for the slightly older beginner student - age 7 years and older. The student will learn to pay the keyboard/piano and at the same time develop a rich base of important musical skills such as:

-reading

-developing listening skills

-theory

-harmony(Chord playing)

-composition

-ensemble (playing with others)

-writing skills

Parents have given positive feedback saying the program is fantastic for improving confidence as the students have the chance to do lots of performing in both class concerts and on "stage" at the annual Forte Festival.

EARLY CHILDHOOD CLASSES

Jungle Music program for tots and pre-schoolers (up to 3.5 yo)

Learning music at a young age enhances sensory motor development ie brain development. This in turn promotes memory, attention, and problem-solving skills. It fosters creativity, allowing children to express themselves through rhythm, melody and movement.

Music also cultivates social and emotional skills, encouraging teamwork, empathy and self-confidence. In addition, early exposure to music improves language and communication abilities as well as gross and fine motor skills.

Our Jungle Music classes are a lot of fun and provides a nurturing environment for children to develop their musical abilities whilst also reaping a range of the other  benefits mentioned above, which would help get them school ready!

Music is Fun Course (for pre-schoolers and kinder age children up to 5 yo)

Young children are introduced to music elements such as pitch, rhythm and beat (short and long sounds), dynamics - loud and soft sounds, tempo (fast and slow speed), various timbres of music by playing an wide variety of percussion instruments including chime bars, egg shakers, claves, bells, rhythm sticks, guiros, castanets, triangles, drums, tap block, tabourines and finger cymbals.  The sensory rich environment coupled with a musical setting facilitates multi sensory and multi modal learning as we sing, move, stomp, clap and tap to music from Forte's Music is Fun album.
