How can you support your child’s Physical Education learning at home?

Encourage Outdoor Play: Spend time outdoors in parks or open spaces where children can run, climb, and explore, which helps with spatial awareness and motor development.

Encourage Active Play: Provide opportunities for free play that involve running, jumping, and other physical activities. This helps build motor skills in a fun and relaxed way.

Practice Skills: Ask your child what skills they are learning in PE and practise them together. For example, practicing throwing, catching, dribbling, or kicking a ball can help refine those skills. Use household items like soft balls or homemade targets to practice indoors or outdoors.

Family Activities: Engage in physical activities as a family. Go for walks, play a sport, or have a dance-off. This not only promotes fitness but also demonstrates the importance of an active lifestyle.

Limit Screen Time: Encourage a balance between screen time and physical activities. Suggest physical activity breaks during screen time to keep them moving throughout the day.
