Happy World Teacher’s Day – Friday 25th October

Today is Box Hill North Primary School and Kindergarten’s Teacher’s Day, which is celebrated nation-wide tomorrow (Friday 25th).  We have an exceptional staff of dedicated teachers at Box Hill North, and we have enjoyed celebrating them today. Teachers have been treated to a morning tea and a massage from a visiting masseuse! 

Please feel free to celebrate your child/ren’s teacher tomorrow if you missed today!

Regional Athletics – High Jump Finalist!

Today Matilda from Year 4 made our school very proud by competing in the Regional Athletics High Jump finals! This saw Matilda competing against all of the best high jumpers in the North East Victorian Region of schools. Only the best of the best make it to Regional Athletics Finals, with the next step being the State Athletics Finals. Congratulations to Matilda for jumping 1.15 metres high at the Regional Finals and representing our school with such ambition and courage!

School Cleaning 2025

Over the Term 4 break, we will be welcoming a new cleaning company into Box Hill North Primary School and Kinder. We have been serviced by Spotless Cleaning for the past six years, and we look forward to welcoming Tradeflex as our new cleaning company for 2025, after the Department of Education made the decision to hire them to service all government schools in the Inner East Melbourne. We will be keeping Belayneh and Seidi as our cleaning staff, which we’re thrilled about, as they are important members of our school community. Having worked with Tradeflex for the past five years at my previous schools, I look forward to seeing the difference their company can make to the general cleanliness of the school. 

2024 & 2025 Curriculum Dates

As 2024 wraps up, I’d like to remind you of the upcoming student-free days for Term 4:

Monday 4th November – Student-Free Reporting and Assessment Curriculum Day

Friday 20th December –  Student-Free Professional Practice Day

Students will finish the 2024 school year on Thursday 19th December at 1.30pm. 

2025

Tuesday 28th January – State-Wide Student-Free Curriculum Day

Wednesday 29th January – BHN Student-Free Curriculum Day

Thursday 30th January – Students return to school for 2025

Curriculum Day – Monday 4th November

A reminder to all families that Monday 4th November will be a Student-Free Curriculum Day. This day will be used for teachers to complete Semester 2 Reporting requirements. We hope that our families enjoy a long weekend in (hopefully) lovely weather!

FOUNDATION 2025 Transition

We are very excited to welcome our 2025 Prep students into school for Transition Sessions this year. During these Transition sessions, we will be offering parent information sessions and morning tea in our Community Room. A schedule of these Parent Information Sessions will be distributed to all enrolled families next week. 

2025 Prep Information Night - Thursday 28th November, 5.30pm-6.30pm

We will also hold a 2025 Prep Information Night on Thursday 28th November, 5.30pm-6.30pm. We look forward to meeting with as many of our 2025 Prep parents as possible at this event. Tea/Coffee/Biscuits will be provided.
