Merry Christmas

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all the Catherine McAuley Family a very happy and holy Christmas and a festive New Year. I look forward to seeing you again in 2025. For those families moving on from us, I wish your all the very best for the future.

Lets us pray:

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for letting me have wonderful people in my life to celebrate with at Christmas time. I pray that you bless and keep my family and friends safe, warm and focused on you during this Christmas season.

May Your Light shine upon them, so they may see your love, joy, grace, mercy and peace.

I also pray for the whole world and pray for your peace and joy to fill all hearts.  I pray that people will experience your unfailing love this Christmas.

Christmas Event

This year the PACE committee will be organising the Christmas Event. It will be a picnic event, where families are invited to gather, catch up with old friends, make some new friends and generally get into the Christmas spirit. Each class will sing a Christmas carol for your entertainment, but the main idea is to mingle and have a nice, relaxing time. Please ensure that the attire is appropriate and similar to what students would wear on a regular casual clothes day at school. There is no need to buy anything new—students can choose to wear a plain coloured t-shirt (e.g., red, green, or white) if they prefer.

As this is a parent run event, the teachers are not responsible for the supervision of the students. This is your role as parents. There will be teachers on the gates so that not just anyone can walk in. We ask that the children do not play on the play equipment as there is no supervision for this and too many children for this to be allowed safely. This is a matter of priority. The play equipment will be roped off and the whole area out of bounds.

The parents have organised a sausage sizzle, there are cheese grazing boxes for sale, as well as crisps, popcorn, middleton iceblocks, water and juice poppers. These will be for sale in the canteen area - not in the canteen itself.

Teachers On Leave 2025

Several of our teachers are either leaving Catherine McAuley or taking extended leave. Firstly, the Assistant Principal, Mrs Robyn Petty is taking a well deserved break for the year. Mrs Marianne Niven, is also taking a year's leave. Mrs Shannon Williams is going to focus on her family for the year, but do some casual work. Ms Tracey Tydd will take some time off to complete her studies and Mrs Ann Brown has decided the time has come to retire. Lastly, Mrs Tasley Mortimer  will be taking parental leave as she is expecting another baby.

I am sure you will join me in wishing these staff members well for the year ahead.

Acting Assistant Principal

Mrs Shannon Cain has been appointed to the role of Acting Assistant Principal after a rigorous recruitment and interview process. I am sure you will join me in wishing Mrs Cain congratulations on winning this role.

With Mrs Cain's promotion, the role of Religious Education Coordinator will need to be filled. Once this has happened, I will let you know.
