As an executive leadership team term four is always incredibly busy. Currently we are reviewing school data, against the last School Strategic Plan (SSP) and we prepare for our school review in term one next year. The school review will involve analysing school data, classroom observations, forums (parent, staff and student) and will culminate in a new SSP – providing direction for the next four years. This is important work, and a very big process, which will be led by an external reviewer and involve external challenge partners and our School Improvement Education Leader.
Thank you to everyone who came dressed up for the Halloween dress up day, organised by the student leadership group. The children had a wonderful day. Our school captains will be representing Tarneit Rise Primary School at the Remembrance Day service on November 11.

Stay Safe on the Roads:
As the hustle and bustle of daily life continues, it’s easy to overlook the importance of traffic safety. With so many vehicles around the school, ensuring the safety of all road users—drivers, passengers, pedestrians, and cyclists—is crucial. Here are some key tips and reminders to keep everyone safe.
1. Stay Focused
Distracted driving is a leading cause of accidents. Whether it's texting, adjusting the radio, or chatting with passengers, distractions can have serious consequences. Keep your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel. If you need to make a call or send a message, pull over safely first.
2. Obey Speed Limits
Speed limits are set for a reason—they’re designed to keep everyone safe. Driving too fast reduces your ability to react to sudden changes in traffic conditions. Remember, speeding not only increases the likelihood of accidents but also intensifies their severity. We all know the traffic around the school is very congested, and it is very important that we adhere to the speed limit of 40kmph. It is also very important that we show patience and care when driving during these peak times.
3. Use Turn Signals
Always signal your intentions when changing lanes or making turns. This simple action informs other drivers of your plans and helps prevent collisions. Clear communication on the road is vital for everyone’s safety. Please avoid making U-turns along Cloverdale Road during morning drop off, and afternoon pick up because it is very unsafe, due to the high volume of traffic. It is much safer to drive around the clock during these times.
4. Watch for Pedestrians and Cyclists
Pedestrian and cyclist safety is paramount, especially in urban areas. Always yield the right of way to pedestrians at crossings, and keep an eye out for cyclists. When passing, maintain a safe distance to ensure they have room to manoeuvre. When cycling and scooting, we must always wear protective helmets.
5. Adjust for Weather Conditions
Rain, snow, fog, and ice can make driving hazardous. Adjust your speed, increase your following distance, and use headlights in poor visibility. Always be prepared for changing conditions, and if the weather is too severe, consider delaying your trip.
6. Stay Informed About Local Traffic Laws
Traffic laws can vary by location. Stay informed about the laws in your area, including new regulations or changes that may affect your driving. Being knowledgeable will help you navigate the roads safely and legally.
Traffic safety is a shared responsibility contributing to a safer environment for everyone.
