Christmas Raffle
Thank you to all of our families who have donated items for our upcoming Christmas Raffle. We have now received a number of items that will be made up into hamper prizes. The raffle will be drawn at our Christmas Carols on Thursday the 5th December. Tickets are 1.00 each / $10.00 for the book and more tickets are available from the school office. If you are unable to attend the event, we will notify you the following day if you have won.
Christmas Carols Night
We are one week away from the best family night on the school calendar. On Thursday 5th December, we invite families to join us on the school oval from 5:30pm for a BYO picnic. Bring along some nibbles, a picnic rug or camp chair and find a spot to watch the carols from. Please note this is a pet, alcohol and smoke and vape-free event.
Picnic before the Carols 5:00-6:00pm
Bring your own picnic and enjoy this before the show starts at 6:00pm.
Sausages will also be sold on the night, (until sold out) to raise funds for our school.
The canteen will also be open and selling drinks, ice creams and snacks between 5-6pm.
Raffle tickets can also be bought during this time.
6:00-7:30 (approx) Concert
The Concert will begin at 6:00pm with Junior and Senior Choir followed by class groups performing one Christmas song each. Students will be required to sit with their classes at the front of the stage area during this time.
During the evening, our Christmas Raffle prizes will be drawn. Raffle tickets have been sent home and are currently on sale. You can ask for extra tickets from the office.
A very special guest is also expected to visit us on the night. The event will finish by approximately 7:30pm.
It is important to note that after receiving some feedback from previous years Carols, this year there will be a change to the seating arrangements for the event. As you can see below we will be having two separate seating areas to choose from. You can choose to sit on a chair around the outside of the field (please see pink shaded area below) or you can choose to sit in the middle area towards the back on a blanket (please see blue shaded area below). These changes have been made to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to see their students perform without hinderance, these seating arrangements will be strictly enforced on the night.
Colour Run for Fun
On Wednesday 20th November, we held our annual Colour Run for Fun and it was such a fun day! Each year level got to run around our field and basketball court, get wet and coloured! It was great to see so many kids laughing and having fun with their friends and classmates.
At the end of the day, students that raised over $150 got the opportunity to slime a teacher, twice!
Thank you to everyone that fundraised, we raised a total of $13,013 for our school, which will go towards play equipment in our Junior school area.
A huge congratulations to the following top Fundraisers:
Stevie - $630
Zoe - $585
Byron - $450
4A were the class that raised the most, raising $1375 in total!
We look forward to doing it again next year, even bigger and better!!
Staffing News
It's a very busy time of year for organising staffing for 2025, as yet we have not informed our teachers which classes they will be teaching in 2025. However, students will know their class teacher by our last transition session on Tuesday 10th December.
Sadly, we will be saying goodbye to Mrs G, our music teacher at the end of the year. Mrs G has done a terrific job in the past couple of years in teaching an engaging music program as well as supporting and leading a number of school performances. We wish her well for her future, as she moves to a school a bit closer to her home and family.
We also farewell Mr Legge at the end of the year. Mr Legge has taught a number of students at our school in recent years, developing wonderful relationships with many of our students and families. We wish him the best of luck in his new P.E teacher role at Topirum Primary School.
Ms McLeod is also leaving Clyde PS at the end of 2024 to return to her previous school, Clyde Secondary College. Ms McLeod has taught Year 4 this year and will be missed by our school community.
And finally, we are thrilled to announce that Miss Crow and her partner Craig are expecting their first child in June next year. Miss Crow will return at the beginning of 2025, before taking her Family Leave.
