Dear Parents and Carers,
In the Roman Catholic tradition, the feast of All Saints is celebrated on November 1st, followed by the feast of All Souls on November 2nd. The celebrations of All Saints and All Souls recall those who now share in the gift of eternal life—those who now see God face to face.
Saints are those formally recognised by the Catholic Church as living lives faithful to the gospel. The Feast of All Souls remembers all the departed, recognising their gift of new life. Within the Catholic tradition, life after death is changed but not ended. During the month of November, we recall those who have died.
The whole school Mass has been cancelled for this Friday, November 1st. However, Ms Gasbarro will lead us in a small liturgy during assembly for All Saints Day. All parents and carers are very welcome to attend.
Today, we welcomed our new Foundation students to St. Fidelis for their second transition session. Over the next month, the new Foundation students will come to school for four transition sessions to spend time in the learning spaces and to experience different aspects of school life. During these four sessions, the parents will meet with leadership team members to learn about literacy, numeracy, Well-being, and other aspects of life at St Fidelis.
If you can, we encourage you to attend the Remembrance Day Service on Sunday, November 10th, at the Coburg RSL (323 Sydney Road, Coburg). Our very own Olivia S in Year 5 will have the honour of singing the National Anthem during the service. This is a beautiful experience and privilege for Olivia and her family, and it’s a meaningful occasion for our community to gather in respect and gratitude for those who have served.
Attending this service offers students a valuable opportunity to learn about and reflect on the sacrifices made by past generations. It's a way for young people to understand and appreciate the significance of peace and unity, and to feel connected to our shared history. We hope to see many of you there to support Olivia and honour this important day.
On Saturday, November 16th, Reggio Calabria Club in Brunswick is hosting Family Fun Night. The cost is $55 per adult and $30 per child, including antipasto share plates, pasta, and dessert. Drinks are NOT INCLUDED, but they can be purchased in the evening at bar prices! Children in highchairs are FREE.
Tickets are now available to purchase on QuickCliq, and ticket sales will end on 7th November unless sold out prior.
Please read the information on HOW TO PURCHASE TICKETS carefully (in the flyer) to ensure you get your preferred seating arrangements. The P&F Committee looks forward to seeing you at the event!
At this stage, I am unable to share any dates for the Sacraments in 2025 (Reconciliation, Holy Communion, and Confirmation ) until our new Parish Priest, Fr Brendan Reed, arrives early November. As soon as I have these dates, I will inform you via newsletter and Audiri.
If your child is participating in this year's Christmas card competition, please ensure they bring it to school by Friday, November 1st. The theme is PEACE, JOY, AND LOVE. This competition is organised by the local MP, Anthony Cianflone. The winning design will appear on a Christmas card, and the message will be distributed across the community, with full credit given to the winning students.
Congratulations to Gemma, Alexander, Zara, and Anthony, who are heading to the STEM MAD National Finals in Brisbane to represent MACS schools and St. Fidelis with their amazing prototype, EzyPour! We wish them all the best and know they will make us proud.
A big thank you to the parents who are flying up with the children, as well as Mr. Frazzetto, Ms. Pirrotta, and Mrs. Watson, who will also be attending.
You’ve made your families and our school community incredibly proud; best of luck!
Support Our Students Heading to STEM MAD National Finals!
We are incredibly proud of Gemma, Alexander, Zara, and Anthony, who have earned a place in the STEMMAD National Finals in Brisbane. They represent both MACS schools and St. Fidelis. Their innovative project, EzyPour, has truly shone.
Currently, the children and their families are funding the trip themselves and seeking sponsorship to help with the costs. We would love to support them and make this journey a little easier. If you would like to contribute, here are the bank details:

Anyone with outstanding fees, can you please finalise them this week as fees are required for the general running costs of the school.
If you are a family with their last child in their final year at St Fidelis, can you please ensure your fees are paid before the end of October (unless you are on a payment plan). Thank you kindly.
Enjoy your long weekend,
Manuela
