Working with Children Checks

We welcome parents and guardians who would like to volunteer at Cheltenham East Primary School! Your involvement in school activities is a wonderful way to support our students and staff. To ensure a safe environment for everyone, all volunteers are required to hold a current Working with Children Check (WWCC).

To apply for a WWCC:

Click here: Working with Children Check to start your application. Be sure to link your check to Cheltenham East Primary School during the process.

For VIT Card Holders:

If you are a parent with a current VIT Card, please follow this link: Service Victoria | Teacher Notification to notify Working with Children Check Victoria of your child-related volunteer role at our school. This helps us stay updated with your records.

To update your details:

If you need to make any changes to your WWCC information, please update through this link: Working with Children Check - Update Details.

Please note: Without a valid and current WWCC, you will not be able to participate in volunteer activities at the school.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping us create a safe and engaging environment for our students!

Division Cricket

The Grade 6 cricket team had a fantastic opportunity to compete at the Division level in Carrum on Tuesday, October 29, following their victory at the District level in Interschool Sports.

At Division level, the competition included teams from a larger area, providing our team with some challenging matches. They first played against St Louis Primary School, the eventual winners of the day, who proved to be a tough team to beat and have now earned a spot in the Regional competition.

Our team also faced Parktone Primary School in a close and evenly matched game but experienced a narrow loss. Despite the outcome, it was a fun and inspiring day filled with high-level cricket skills from all teams.

A huge thank you to Mrs. Robinson, Sean, and Ian for driving the team to Roy Dore Reserve, allowing us to participate fully. We also extend our appreciation to the parents, grandparents, and carers who came to support and cheer for the players.

Congratulations to the team for their hard work and support for one another throughout the competition. Well done to the team members: Angus (Captain), Henry, Dylan, Elliott, Johnny, Ben, Kiaan, Ollie, Jimmy, and Jakob.

Volleyball

We are excited to announce that, thanks to the Sporting Schools Grant, we successfully secured funding once again—this time for a volleyball program. Over the past four weeks, TEAM SERVA has been leading volleyball sessions for our Grade 4 and 5 classes.

During these sessions, Narene and Noah from TEAM SERVA have introduced the students to the fundamentals of volleyball. The children have been learning what it means to play a “true” team sport and discovering various ways volleyball can be enjoyed—whether on the beach, indoors, or outdoors. They have also been developing essential volleyball skills such as serving, digging, spiking, and setting.

It’s been wonderful to witness the students' weekly progress and growing enthusiasm, as they send the ball flying over the net from the “platform” of their arms to an opponent.

Please check the attached flyer for details about an upcoming Volleyball Tournament. Interested students can organize a team and enter to gain even more volleyball experience.
