CAREERS

Encouraging our students to explore their interests is always exciting. It is rewarding to see the satisfaction and confidence they gain by trying something new for the first time. Doubts are often overcome, motivation increases, and the foundation for their future journeys begins.
Work Experience, Structured Workplace Learning, and Vocational Education and Training courses are designed to give our students opportunities to explore a variety of potential career interests. This experience in the workplace allows them to discover different occupations and responsibilities within a business, ask questions of industry specialists, gain essential work skills, and shape their future career choices. It often alleviates pressure, ensuring that when they enter the workforce or pursue further studies, they do so with confidence and a clearer idea of what their future may hold.
In Term 4, we celebrate our students who have taken the next step and have secured part-time school-based traineeships or apprenticeships (SBATs). These students have successfully balanced their school commitments with their SBAT workplace responsibilities and extra study requirements at TAFE. Their dedication to both their education and work responsibilities is truly commendable. Our students have demonstrated an ability to manage their time effectively while gaining invaluable firsthand experience, which reflects their strong work ethic and determination. This journey has not only provided them with practical skills but has also helped to map out future careers, setting these young adults on a path not only to success, but also – I would hope – continued enjoyment in what they do. As they continue to grow and learn outside of the college, let’s remember that this experience is one of many future stepping stones our children will take.
Congratulations! Your dedication and resilience inspire us all.
