Principal's Message

Good afternoon, Parents/Carers,

We are already mid-way through Term 1.  Our students are settled and learning.  We have had an increase in attendance every day to school which is great to see.   It is important to ensure that your child is attending school regularly.  School attendance is compulsory for all students between the ages of 6 and 17 years.  We understand that in some circumstances it is necessary for your child to be away from school (eg: illness, family emergency, unavoidable travel, medical appointments) however, we require an explanation as to the absence within 7 days of the absence taking place.   Your assistance in doing so ensures your child gets the most out of their education, building relationships with others and being a part of our community.

Welcome Back BBQ and Information Evening 

Our annual Welcome Back BBQ and Information was held last Wednesday 19th February.  It was great to see so many families come and share in a BBQ and information about your child's education.  We hope you found the evening enjoyable and informative.  

Quirindi Zone PSSA Swimming Carnival

Congratulations to Arabella, Jackson, Lachy, Lillian S, Piper, Theo and Tyler who attended the Quirindi Zone Swimming Carnival yesterday.  All students represented Werris Creek Public School with pride.  Those who are through to the Regional Swimming Carnival will be informed this week.

School Assembly

Our first official school assembly will be held this Friday, 25th February in the School Hall at 2:15pm.  Our Swimming Champions and Runners Up will be announced and awarded their medallions.

School Bus Service

 We are interested in knowing who would utilise the bus service to and from school each day if available.  If you would use this service, please contact the school on 6768 7065 and let us know.  We thank those parents who have contacted us already.

Turn Up Awards

To encourage our students to attend school every day we have introduced the 'Turn Up" award.  Each day your child attends their name will be entered into the draw to receive a canteen voucher.  A voucher will be issued each week to each class.  If your child attends 5 times in that week they have 5 entries.  If they attend two days in that week they have 2 entries.  Our winners for Week 4 are:

Congratulations, you will each receive a canteen voucher to enjoy a free lunch from the canteen this Friday.

Expression of Interest for Yrs 3-6 Major Excursion to Sydney

An expression of interest was sent home last week to all Yr 3-6 students for our major excursion to Sydney in November 2025.  We ask that you return your interest to the school together with a deposit to secure your child's spot.
