Youth 4 Youth Group Agreement
Welcome to Youth 4 Youth! To make sure everyone has an awesome experience, let’s agree on a few things that’ll help us stay connected, respectful, and safe during our online workshops.
- Respectful Communication• Always listen with kindness and respect everyone’s ideas—no judgment here!• Use positive language when sharing your thoughts, and be open to hearing different perspectives.• We’re all here to learn, so let’s make sure no one’s voice gets drowned out.
- Participation = Fun!• Join in the activities and discussions—your ideas make the group better!• Feel free to speak up, ask questions, or share something cool—this is your space too.• Need a break? It’s okay to step out for a bit; just let us know in the chat.
- Inclusive and Welcoming Vibes• We celebrate each other’s differences—whether it’s background, culture, or ideas!• Be the reason someone feels welcomed today.• Encourage everyone to be themselves and remember: kindness is contagious!
- Respect Time and Effort• We value your time, so let’s stick to the schedule and respect everyone’s commitment.• Try to join workshops on time and stay engaged—no ghosting if possible!• If something comes up, no worries—just give us a heads-up!
- Safe, Supportive, and Chill Space• We’re all in this together! Create a space where everyone feels comfy to share.• There’s no place for bullying, negativity, or hate here—just good vibes and support.• If you’re feeling uncomfortable or overwhelmed, it’s totally okay to take a break.
- Let’s Hype Each Other Up!• We love seeing everyone’s contributions—whether it’s an idea, a comment, or even a meme!• Let’s appreciate and recognise the unique perspectives that everyone brings to the table.• Share encouragement, shout-outs, and those positive vibes in the chat!
- Trigger Warnings = Respect• If you’re going to talk about something heavy or sensitive, give a quick “trigger warning” first.• If anyone feels uncomfortable, let the group know, and we can switch gears or take a break.
- Accessibility for Everyone• Our workshops are online, so let’s make sure everyone can join in! Got tech issues? No stress—just let us know, and we’ll figure it out together.• If something isn’t working for you (like audio or visuals), let us know, and we’ll make it work.
- Confidentiality and Privacy• What’s shared in the group stays in the group—everyone’s privacy is respected.• We want you to feel safe, but just a reminder: if something serious comes up, we may need to follow up (duty of care).
- Share and Use Resources• If you know of helpful resources or support services, share them in the chat!• We’ve got your back too. Here are a few great places to check out if you ever need:
- Kids Helpline
- Beyond Blue
- Headspace
- eHeadspace (for online and phone support)
- Camera and Mic Etiquette• Turn on your camera if you feel comfortable—it helps us feel more connected!• Mute your mic when not speaking to avoid background noise, but feel free to unmute if you want to jump into the convo!
- Fun and Creative Spaces• We believe learning should be fun, so let’s keep the energy positive and creative.• Feel free to suggest cool activities, icebreakers, or games to keep things fresh. Let’s make it exciting!• Emojis, GIFs, and virtual backgrounds are totally welcome—just keep it respectful.
- Be Flexible and Understanding• We know life can get busy or unpredictable—especially online—so if you can’t make it or need to leave early, no stress.• If tech issues pop up, we’ll handle it together—no one’s getting left behind!
- Support Each Other’s Growth• We’re here to grow, learn, and support each other. Offer feedback when needed, and always come from a place of care.• Remember, it’s okay to make mistakes—we’re all learning together.
