Clyde North Campus News

The term is certainly underway and students and teachers settling into the familiar routine of school. Our year 7 students have become masters of their timetable and most importantly the lock for their locker, which for me remains a tricky contraption. Well, done year 7.
We were again busy over the past two weeks planning for and delivering several exciting events which are outlined below.
Social Justice initiative report.
Last Friday the 14th of February, the student executive hosted a lunch time photoshoot to celebrate the love and friendship we all share within the college. Students were invited to take polaroid pictures with their friends at the piazza, using a customized decorated frame and fun props to enhance the celebratory event.
The aim of this initiative was to bring friends together in the spirit of love, make some memories and increase the liveliness of celebrations within our school community. We had an outstanding turn out with many friendship groups lining up to have their photos taken which also brought attention to the 'Ways to love like Jesus' initiative. All the donations raised from this event will go towards Caritas; An Australian based charity that works to eradicate poverty and injustice which Saint Peters works very closely with.
A big thank you to the students who participated and the staff members who made this event possible. Michelle (Social Justice Captain) & Sharleen (Liturgy Captain)
The launch of our new Pastoral Care Program
Our Strive & Thrive pastoral program has served us well over the past 5 years, it was time for a review which was conducted last year. Feedback, data and reflection was sourced from students, teachers, Learning Advisors, House Leaders and Pastoral Care Leaders from both campuses was obtained. This allowed us to do a deep dive into the data and consider if and what changes were needed to continue to provide an evidence based, engaging and meaningful pastoral program for our students.
We are pleased and proud to present our new Pastoral Program for 2025 to meet the needs of our students where they are at now and for what they will need to thrive in the future. We decided to rename the program from Strive & Thrive to simply Pastoral Care Program. The program aims to take students on a journey meeting their needs as they travel from year 7 to year 12, ensuring their well-being is consistently nurtured and fostering a sense of self, positive relationships and their place in the world today. The new program is also aligned with the Victorian Curriculum Personal and Social Capability.
House Leaders from both campuses have designed each year level program bringing to life engaging and meaningful sessions for students. We will still incorporate external agencies for those topics that require experts to deliver content. Incorporated in the program are specific sessions of careers and social engagement through games and activities to nudge students beyond their comfort zone but within the safe environment of their house. We are very excited about the program and our thanks go to the House Leader team and the Learning Advisors who have been not only the architects of the program but are also the primary sources of expertise and delivery. I encourage you to speak with your child to gain their feedback on session one held this week.
I wish you all a safe and productive week.
