2025 Team Vic State Team Trials
Registrations are now open for any child (12 years and under) who would like to try out for the Victorian State Teams. The School Sport Victoria (SSV) Team Vic representative program provides a development platform for Victorian students to challenge themselves against Australia’s best school aged athletes across numerous sports at the annual School Sport Australia (SSA) Championships. SSV coordinate the selection process for Team Vic teams in partnership with relevant state sporting organisations.
Registrations close at 11:59pm, Friday, 28 February, 2025.

Please see the new Team Vic Principal Endorsement Sheet process for the following teams in 2025:
- Australian Football 12 Years & Under Boys (Closes on Friday 1st March, 2024)
- Basketball 12 Years & Under Girls/Boys (Closes on Friday 1st March, 2024)
- Football (Soccer) 12 Years & Under Boys (Closes on Friday 1st March, 2024)
- Netball 12 Years & Under Girls (Closes on Friday 1st March, 2024)
- Cricket 12 Years & Under Boys (Closes on Friday 1st March, 2024)
Students are reminded that the skills required for these teams must be exceptional. It is not a ‘Come and Try’ system. Students are required to check with the school principal or sports teacher for endorsement to go to the trials.

Congratulations to everyone who participated on the day. Thank you to the parents who assisted, we are very grateful for your help. Thanks also to the teachers and the staff of Bluewater for their work to allow the day to run so smoothly. Hockey Victorian Roadshow
Yesterday, and once again tomorrow Wednesday 19th February, the Hockey Victorian Roadshow will be at Sacred Heart to teach some hockey skills to the Physical Education classes. Day one of the Roadshow has been fantastic, with our older students learning lots of new hockey skills. Tomorrow it will be our junior students who will learn the skills.
The ‘Hook in 2 Hockey’ Program will also be available for Sacred Heart students. This program involves six Saturday morning sessions and will be held at the Eastern Reserve. Please see attached flyer for more information.
Colac Division Tennis Tournament
The Colac Division Primary Schools Tennis Tournament will take place this Friday 21st February at the Colac Lawn Tennis Courts in Church Street. Good luck to the Sacred Heart Students who have been selected to participate in this event.
The day will start at 9:30am and finish at approximately 1:30pm. Tennis players will need to make their own way to the Colac Lawn Tennis Courts (please contact Nicole Lynch if this is a problem). We do need parents to help at this event, so can you please indicate on PAM is you are able to assist.
NO LUNCH ORDERS for participants on the day.

Sacred Heart Athletics Years 3-6
The Sacred Heart Athletics will take place on Thursday 27th February at Colac Central Reserve. All students from Years 3-6 will have the opportunity to participate in this event. The athletics will start at 9:30am and finish at 1:30pm. Students will walk to the Central Reserve. We do need parent helpers on the day, so can you please indicate on PAM if you can assist.

Name: Chase Hickey (Yr 6SF)
1. What sports do you play? The sports I play are football, tennis, cricket and basketball.
2. Which sport is your favourite to play? My favourite sport to play is football.
3. Why is this your favourite sport? Football is my favourite sport because it is a great game to play, and I like playing with my team mates.
4. What is your proudest sporting moment? My proudest sporting moment was when I played in the Under 14’s football grandfinal.
5. What are your strengths that help you with sport? My strengths in sport is my running ability. I can keep running for the whole game of football.
6. Why do you love playing sports? I love playing sport because it is fun and I like to keep active.
7. Who is your favourite sports person? My favourite sports person is Bulldogs football player Marcus Bontempelli.
8. Why are they your favourite? Marcus Bontempell is my favourite player because is the Bulldogs best player. He is a great forward/midfielder.
9. What is your favourite sporting team? My favourite sports team is the Western Bulldogs.
10. How would your coaches and teammates describe you? My coach and team mates would say that I am very competitive and try very hard.
Name: Hudson Guy (Yr 6KT)
1. What sports do you play? The sports I play are football and markers-up.
2. Which sport is your favourite to play? My favourite sport to play is Football Markers-up.
3. Why is this your favourite sport? Football Markers-up is my favourite sport because it is like football but you do not have to tackle other players.
4. What is your proudest sporting moment? My proudest sporting moment was when I took five football marks in a row.
5. What are your strengths that help you with sport? My strength in sport is my height, I am taller than the people I play with.
6. Why do you love playing sports? I love playing sport because I get to be with my friends.
7. Who is your favourite sports person? My favourite sports person is footballer Tyson Stengle.
8. Why are they your favourite? Tyson Stengle is my favourite player because he is a very good player for Geelong.
9. What is your favourite sporting team? My favourite sports team is the Geelong Cats.
10. How would your coaches and teammates describe you? My coach and team mates would say that I start off nervously but my confidence builds up and gets better as the game continues.

1. What sports do you play? The sport I play is tennis.
2. Which sport is your favourite to play? My favourite sport to play is tennis.
3. Why is this your favourite sport? Tennis is my favourite sport because I enjoy running around the tennis court and hitting good shots against my opponent.
4. What is your proudest sporting moment? My proudest sporting moment was winning my first trophy in tennis.
5. What are your strengths that help you with sport? My strengths in sport is that I am a fast runner and I have a lot of energy.
6. Why do you love playing sports? I love playing sport because it if fun to play and it keeps me fit.
7. Who is your favourite sports person? My favourite sports person is tennis player Roger Federer.
8. Why are they your favourite? Roger Federer is my favourite player because he is really ‘old’ and everyone told him to retire, but he kept going and he is still winning.
9. What is your favourite sporting team? My favourite sports team is the Geelong Cats.
10. How would your coaches and teammates describe you? My coach and team mates would say that I am a very fast runner and I am very competitive.
