Term 1
Secondary 7/8 Section has been an exciting and busy time, full of learning, new experiences, and great achievements. We were thrilled to welcome 13 new students to our school community and it’s been wonderful to see them settling in, learning the routines and making new friends.
Our students have enjoyed several excursions, including the Secondary Sports Day where they showed great enthusiasm and skill to compete in athletic events, and a fun-filled day at Williamstown Beach. Additionally, four of our classes (78B, 78F, 78G, 78H) took part in a week of swimming lessons, building confidence and essential water safety skills.
In the classroom, students have been working hard across all subjects. A key focus this term has been interoception—helping students understand how their bodies respond to different sensations. This learning has supported students' understanding and awareness of their body.
In Literacy, students have been making great progress in their Sounds Write lessons, strengthening their reading and spelling skills. Meanwhile, in Maths, students have been exploring the concept of time, building their understanding of clocks, calendars, and daily routines.
It’s been a fantastic start to the year, and we are looking forward to even more learning and growth in Term 2!
