Hello Everyone and welcome back!

To those who are new to St Kevin’s, a very warm WELCOME to our school community!

My name is Fulvia Gerosolimo, and I am the Religious Education Leader (REL) of our school. As part of my role, I lead  Social Justice initiatives and serve as a FIRE Carrier. I am privileged to be the classroom teacher for Grade 1/2 GW, which I share with Mrs. Kellyann Wilson.

I hope you all enjoyed a restful and well-deserved break and that you found moments for prayer or reflection. I also hope you had the opportunity to visit the church with your child, fostering their faith and connection to our parish community.

Wishing you every blessing for the week ahead.

Sacrament of Reconciliation

This term, some of our Year 3 students will be receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Wednesday, 20th March. This is a very special step in their faith journey, as they experience God’s love and forgiveness in a new way.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation allows us to reflect on our actions, say sorry for our mistakes, and receive God's grace to help us grow as kind and loving people. It is a reminder of His endless mercy and the importance of making peace with others.

As these children prepare over the coming weeks, we ask that you keep them in your prayers. May they open their hearts to God's love and feel His peace as they take part in this sacred sacrament.

The Year of Jubilee: A Time of Renewal and Hope

This year, the Catholic Church celebrates the Year of Jubilee, a sacred time of renewal, mercy, and hope. A Jubilee year is a special period of grace, calling us to deepen our faith, strengthen our commitment to God, and embrace acts of compassion and justice.

The theme for this Jubilee is, "Pilgrims of Hope," reminding us that as people of faith, we are on a journey - one of seeking peace, sharing kindness, and trusting in God's love for all. It is a time to reflect on how we can live with greater gratitude, forgiveness, and care for one another.

As families, there are many ways to embrace the spirit of the Jubilee.

  • Take time to pray together, offering thanks and seeking guidance.
  • Perform acts of kindness, especially for those in need.
  • Find moments to forgive and heal relationships.
  • Celebrate God’s creation by spending time in nature.

As we journey through this year, let us ask ourselves:

How can we become true ‘Pilgrims of Hope’ in our families, our community, and the world?
