Student Leadership

In the bustling crowd of students, with uniforms and shoes polished, the 2025 school year of Edgars Creek Secondary College starts off smoothly. We want to welcome all our cohorts to this new year of learning together.

ECSC 2025 School Captains and Vice Captains

Hello everyone, as many of you know, my name is Awaan. I am excited to announce that I will be your newly appointed school captain for 2025. I would like to extend my gratitude to all my teachers, family and friends, for their support I have received from leading up to this role. I am looking forward to working with all the staff and students this year and will do my absolute best to support you as your school captain.

I have chosen to be a school captain because I want to inspire others to take up leadership roles, just as I was when I was year 8, and be the role model that the younger kids can look up to when they need guidance. A goal I want to achieve is to ensure that the student voice is heard throughout the school, and feedback is not just heard, but also put into place. My aim for this year is to create a warm and welcoming learning environment and to do my best to assist and give an ear to all my peers.

Lastly, a leader, to me, is not someone who uses the title as a means of power, but rather  someone who inspires others to grow and excel. Individuals who believe in enhancing school culture, and fostering a thriving school environment at Edgars Creek, ensuring its success even after I graduate.

If you ever see me in or around school, please don’t be afraid to introduce yourself, and let me know if you have any questions, inquiries, or anything that is bothering you.

Thank you!

Awaan “waany” Pathan

School Captain

Hi guys, my name is Div and it is my absolute honour to say I am your school captain for 2025. I want to say thank you to the teachers and students who have trusted and supported me with this position.

As school captain, I am excited to finally be in a position where I can interact, engage and support students (and teachers) on a more direct level. I want to help others grow and foster a closer community spirit, sense of leadership and empowerment here at Edgars Creek Secondary. I hope by being part of the leadership community we can create new opportunities for learning and having fun.

As school captain, my aim is not to be intimidating or showing off, but to be an inspiration for the upcoming leaders of our college. I've seen firsthand the power of student voice, how working together on events and projects can shape our school for the better and I am eager to help guide that discussion along.

Being a leader isn't having a title, but stepping up, and empowering others. I'm excited to embark on this journey with my fellow captains and the entire student body, and I'm confident that together, we can make 2025 truly amazing. In my final year I hope to make the most I can at this school, and leave a legacy that will carry on for years to come.

If you see me out and about, please don't hesitate to say Hi, and come talk to me about any concerns or just things in general. Thank you so much!!

Divjot (Div) Kaur

School Captain

In times like these, Edgars Creek Secondary College is our place for students to represent willpower and truthful cooperation to make another great year just like the rest. I'm Bob! I am this School's Vice Captain and it is my utmost importance to adhere to cooperating with my team and keep events, organisations and announcements up to date.

For the past 6 years at Edgars Creek, I've always had a love for making innovative and bold moves. Whether it was designing a nice google slide presentation in Year 7, or baking a cake diagram of a plant cell for my biology CAT, I always love turning study into a hobby I can express myself with!

My adamance in leadership, planning, and my love for problem solving over the years made me want to be an excellent school representative for our school's community and staff. As Vice Captain, it is my responsibility to be myself, it is my responsibility to work with my team and everyone in our school, it is especially my responsibility to help you!

If you have anything in mind to speak about, you should find me near the PAC building, inside the music rooms if you find me there, or out on the school grounds. I'm always excited to ask any questions you have about us or our school. Good luck this year!

Bobby "Bobstar" Lambevski

Vice Captain

I am Jaylan Needham and I will be one of the two Vice Captains for 2025. I would like to thank Maria and the rest of the teachers who partake in SRC for granting me the opportunity to help assist our school.

Through my role as Vice Captain, I  will be able to help elevate our school; assisting by improving respect among everyone, students willingness to learn, and the school aesthetic (reducing rubbish around school grounds). Through achieving these goals, I aim to make sure that every student comes to school with a positive attitude and works as best as they can.

I am forever grateful to our previous SRCs, who have already done so much to improve our school and create a stronger sense of community. As pillars of our school, I strongly look up to them for inspiration and guidance; continuing their legacy by ensuring our school is as great as ever.

If you see me around the school, feel free to come talk to me, ask any questions, or let me know about any grievances you may have. If you’re unable to find me you can send me an email, and I will respond as quickly as possible.

Thank you and hope you have a great year!

Jaylan Needham

Vice Captain

Events

Year 12 English Incursion

  • The English incursion went on without a hitch! The Something Company performed with lots of dedication, presenting the mentor texts in a completely different perspective. This was a great opportunity for the Year 12’s to take a deep dive into the mentor texts and understand them on deeper levels.

Year 12 Whittlesea Tech Excursion

  • Whittlesea Tech was an incredible excursion that our Year 12’s went on. From developing their writing and teamwork skills, to understanding mnemonics, the day was spent doing various activities that helped them towards accomplishing their writing goals under the guidance of incredible mentors.

    Memorable activities:

    - scavenger hunt, congrats to all the students that got the word “time flies”.

    - making personal logos to add onto the 2025 banner of the year 12 cohort

Year 12 La Trobe Excursion

  • From the bus ride there to the walk inside, the Year 12’s started their day off with a good amount of energy ready to get a taste of that Uni life. We were lucky enough to have some of our old students come back and give a talk about what they are getting up to in their new stage of life.

More events yet to come!

Housekeeping

Just a quick reminder to please utilise the left side of the stairs to ensure proper traffic. This simple adjustment makes crossing stairs easier and ensures everyone's safety.

We also kindly ask for your assistance in keeping our toilets clean and tidy. By properly disposing of rubbish in the bins provided, we can all contribute to a more pleasant environment for everyone to enjoy.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!

We look forward to seeing what 2025 throws at us in the midst of academics, trips, and meaningful memories made together throughout this year.
