School Saving Bonus

For the families that haven't allocated their School Saving Bonus, please access the following  links:

"The email you received in November contains a unique code for the $400 bonus and access to the School Saving Bonus online system.  The department are resending the codes out to those families that haven't allocated their SSB.

To learn more about the School Saving Bonus online system, download the step-by-step user guide (DOCX, 945KB) or watch this video

Check junk or spam folders for this email. For enquiries, use the School Saving Bonus enquiry form"

If you choose to allocate your SSB to activities you have the choice of allocating to your child's camp OR the events & activities that occur during the year ie swimming, sport & incursions/excursions.

Schools Saving Bonus: You should have received an email containing 1 School Saving Bonus voucher code per child. Where a family has multiple students, there will be multiple emails each with a unique code. These vouchers are to be used for 2025 costs.

You can access the https://vimeo.com/1032194830to assist with navigating the online system.

Families have 3 options:-

  • Use the voucher code provided in your email, or the QR code in the online system to complete in-store purchases at a nominated supplier for uniforms & texts books.

  • Select PSW, select an amount, receive a voucher code compatible with the supplier’s online store, and complete an online purchase with a nominated supplier.

  • Select an amount to be allocated to school activities – school activities are detailed in the Parent Payment Contributions under the ‘Extra Curriculum activities and items’ section, distributed on Monday.  You might like to access these early to inform your decision - jump on our website to find them.

If you choose an amount for this option, you will only need to consent to Compass Events during the year.

Senior schools students (Yr3-6) can allocate their voucher to camp costs if preferred under the ‘school activities’ button.

Any funds unallocated with remain as a credit on your account until you spend it.

NOTE: Families need to review these choices carefully. Once an allocation or voucher purchase has been completed, it cannot be reversed.

If you have any issue accessing the School Saving Bonus portal please email school.saving.bonus@education.vic.gov.au .

In case you missed it in Kim's Comms  - see the step by step process for what to do below:

1. Find your original emails from Dept of Ed with unique Schools bonus code (search ‘School Saving Bonus’ as subject)

2. Log in using link in the dept of Ed email

3. Select "Allocate to Activities" select $400 and "DONE" (you’ll get an email saying contribution allocation confirmed and school will be notified within 2 business days)

(**Alternatively, this is where you can allocate to “Uniforms”)

4. When you pay your fees in Compass, remove $400 worth of contributions for extra-curricular activities (this will go to excursions, swimming, camp).

(**For P-2, just deduct the total listed so it is $0. The unused amount from the $400 will remain allocated until used up fully, e.g. in next year’s fees).

5. Pay the reduced amount (you’ll need to deduct the amount yourself from the total provided in Compass).

6. If your child is in Gr 3-6 complete the BBPS survey to help the school navigate allocation of money to camps OR excursions/swimming/sports program. This is not relevant for P-2.
