CSPS Swim Trials and Learn to Swim

CSPS Swim Trials
Approximately 80 CSPS students created history last week by participating in the first ever school swimming event at the newly refurbished Carnegie Memorial Swimming Pool.
All students are to be congratulated on doing their best when participating in a range of 50m swimming races.
Thirty-one students have progressed to the Caulfield & District Swimming Carnival which will be held on Friday 28th February. Parents of those students who have been successful have received a compass notification.
We wish them the best of luck!
“I loved how we got to race and see how far we could swim. I loved the new pool.” Mackenzie S (Year 4D)
“We got to see how fast we could swim down the 50m pool. It was tough but everyone could do it.” Benji I (Year 4D)
“It was really fun. I got into the relay for the first time. We went to the Carnegie pool, and it very cool at it was my first time.” Levi D (4C)
“I had lots of fun on the day. It was cool that we were the first school to swim there.” Sophie L (Year 6A)
Learn to Swim Program
A huge thank you to our staff, parents and students to ensure the smooth running of our Year 3-6 Learn to Swim Program. Year 3 & 5 have been attending this week and Year 4 & 6 next week. We really appreciate those parents who have assisted with travelling to and from the venue on buses to assist us in fulfilling our adult to student offsite ratio requirements.
Please note that the swimming groups for day 1 is used as an assessment day.
Students are put into groups according to their nominated level and assessed by the GESAC staff. On Day 2 onwards the students will be in the same group or a different one, based on the assessment of day 1.
