What's on in Foundation

We are so lucky to have a large, filled to the brim garden at Whitehorse. We ventured there to meet Ashley and learn about all things garden! Feeding the chickens was a favourite. We collected some grains and the chickens pecked the seeds right out of our hands. An egg hiding in the straw caused squeals of delight! Students watered the thirsty plants and even tasted some delicious nashi fruits.

Our classroom is quickly becoming our home away from home. We have spent time learning our classmates' names. We chatted away as we  completed a Venn diagram to discover things we had in common with a new friend. We also found interests that were different. Our word of the week is ‘cat’. We have been practising phonics daily to help us identify the letters and their sounds. Students have also been practising their writing and have made some fabulous class books which are a popular choice to read in the classroom library!
