Walkathon - final chance to donate

As we move into the final week of term, we are putting out one last call for Walkathon donations before they officially close this Wednesday 17 December.

Earlier this term our whole community came together for what was one of the most joyful and energising days of the year. Under perfect blue skies, students from Foundation to Year 6 walked, ran, scooted and cycled their way around the course, cheering each other on and embracing the spirit of fun and fitness. By the end of the day, our students had achieved something incredible. Together, they completed 5,085 laps – an extraordinary whole-school effort.

Beyond being an active and memorable event for our students, the Walkathon plays a vital role in supporting our school programs. This year, our community has already raised an impressive $21,253 through family, friend and community donations. These funds directly support our upgrade to student technology, allowing us to purchase new laptops and iPads across all learning spaces. In fact, thanks to the Walkathon exceeding its target, new iPads have already begun rolling into classrooms, ensuring our students have access to technology where it genuinely enhances learning.

We are also incredibly grateful to our major sponsors, McGrath St Kilda, for their generous commitment to donate 50 cents for every lap completed. With 5,085 laps, this means an amazing additional $2,542.50 contributed to our school. We thank the McGrath team for their ongoing support of SKiPPS and our students.

If you have not yet made a donation, or if you meant to forward the link to family members earlier in the term but life got busy, it’s not too late. Every donation, big or small, makes a meaningful difference to our school and helps us continue to provide rich learning experiences for our students. We would greatly appreciate families sharing the link one final time in these last few days.

At our final assembly next week, we will announce the grand total raised and award prizes to:

• The class that completed the highest average number of laps

• The class that raised the most money
