Look for the helpers

Our hearts go out to the people affected by the weekend's tragedy in Bondi, as well as the greater community. I strongly encourage you to limit your child's exposure to distressing news and social media in general and when speaking with your child about what they may have heard, giving them the very basic facts and reassuring them that they are safe. Chidren are also reassured to hear about the instances of good people helping others. The people who ran towards trouble because they knew they had the skills to help, or helped and protected others in some way. There is also wisdom in the way other people stayed well away from harms way which is worth acknowledging to children.

Reports

School reports will be published on Compass for parents on Wednesday 17th December. Thank you to teachers across the school who have been working long and hard to ensure that your child's report is detailed, personalised and informative. Your child's report must be read in conjunction with the Compass Continuum which can found by accessing their Student Profile then Analytics--> Continuum.

As you can see in the screenshot sample below, curriculum outcomes that your child has mastered are displayed as a tick. Outcomes that they have partially achieved are a blue arrow and outcomes they are yet to attempt are marked with a grey cross. This gives you a great insight into their next learning steps.
