Parent Payments for 2026

Last week, School Council endorsed the Parent Payments for 2026. As always, these payments are an important part of how we resource the rich, engaging and well-supported learning experience that SKiPPS offers every child.
Government funding provides the essential baseline to operate a school, but it does not cover the many additional materials, activities and programs that help our students thrive. Our Parent Payments allow us to offer the high quality learning experiences, excursions, incursions, specialist programs and classroom resources that families rightly expect from SKiPPS.
We are very grateful that around 70 to 75 percent of our families make this annual contribution and we thank you sincerely for your ongoing support.
Requested Parent Payments for 2026
Next Year, the amount we will be asking each family to pay is as follows;
- Foundation: $890
- Year 1: $875
- Year 2: $875
- Year 3: $920
- Year 4: $920
- Year 5: $860
Year 6: $860
This total includes:
- Curriculum Contributions, including all stationery, classroom books, art materials, online learning memberships and specialist subject resources
- All excursions, incursions, sports activities and Gala Days for the year
Voluntary contributions to support technology in classrooms, maintenance of our grounds and gardens, and tax-deductible donations to our Building and Library Funds
At SKiPPS, we deliberately purchase all required stationery and learning materials in bulk so that families do not need to order a separate booklist. This keeps costs down and ensures every student has high quality, consistent resources throughout the year.
Our payments also cover all excursions and incursions, which other schools often charge for separately.
Further details can be found in the attachments below. Families will receive the below letter and a request for payment via Compass in February of next year.
As you can see from the table below, when compared with our neighbouring government schools, SKiPPS remains competitively priced while providing one of the most comprehensive and inclusive parent payment structures in the area.

Why there is a small increase for 2026
While we have worked hard to reduce or streamline many costs, particularly through reviewing our online platforms and subscriptions, families will notice a slight increase next year. This increase reflects an important new initiative that School Council has strongly supported.
In 2026 we plan to introduce a dedicated First Aid Officer who will staff the sickbay each day during the peak hours of 10.30am to 2.30pm. This role will focus on managing the many daily bumps, grazes and injuries that occur in a busy primary school, as well as the growing number of students who require medical action plans and management of asthma, anaphylaxis, diabetes, epilepsy and other serious health conditions.
Until now, our office team, integration aides and leadership team have all shared this workload. We believe that providing a dedicated and trained person in this space will allow us to respond more promptly and confidently to student needs, improve record-keeping, support students with complex health requirements and provide peace of mind for families.
Ideally this position would be funded through our staffing allocation. Unfortunately, that is not possible within our existing budget, so we are asking the community to help make this role a reality through the Parent Payments for 2026.
Thank you
We remain committed to keeping costs as low as we responsibly can, while continuing to offer a vibrant and generous program that genuinely benefits every student.
The support of our families makes an enormous difference. It allows us to maintain the high standards of teaching and learning that SKiPPS is known for and to make sure our students have the equipment, experiences and opportunities that help them flourish.
Thank you once again to all families for your ongoing partnership and support.
