A message from the Principal

This week our focus turns confidently toward 2026, and the excitement around next year is already building across the school. We have now completed two of our transition sessions and it has been wonderful to see our students stepping so naturally into the next stage of their SKiPPS journey.
Our new 2026 Foundation students have visited twice and have already impressed us with their calm, kind and enthusiastic approach. These sessions allow the children to meet their teachers, spend time in their classrooms and begin to feel at home with the people, places and routines that will soon become part of their everyday school life. It is also a valuable opportunity for staff to get to know each child and understand which class groupings will give them the best possible start.
Students from Foundation to Year 5 have also spent time in their 2026 classrooms. They have been working in new groups, getting to know different teachers and peers, and helping us test the balance, dynamics and learning mix for each class. This process is an important part of setting students up for success. It allows us to look closely at academic, social and wellbeing needs so that every class has the right blend.
Next week we will hold our final transition session for all students and will also complete our remaining staffing appointments to finish our 2026 jigsaw. In next week’s newsletter we will share our full staffing profile for next year. As always at SKiPPS, turnover remains very low and we are pleased that, whilst we will welcome a couple of new faces to our wonderful team in 2026, things will remain very stable allowing for continuity and familiarity as we begin the new school year.
We are very much looking forward to a positive and settled start to the year ahead, and cannot wait to welcome our 2026 classes on the first day of school.
