Year 8 Year Review

Year 8 Year Review 2025

Students in Year 8 have worked on a series of different activities during Year Meetings this year.

We started with the Resilience Project which went through Term 1 to partly through Term 3. Students were instructed on things like Mindfulness, Emotional Literacy, Gratitude and Empathy.

Early Term 2, we had the Year Day, where students had their STEM and Logic Skills tested in a series of construction and game activities. Students build towers and bridges and were judged on how well they worked as a team as well as how well they constructed the tower and their bridge.

Early Term 4, we played a couple of General Knowledge and technology Trivia to build team work as well as see what they know.  Some of the students had difficulty with the Geography and Science Questions.

The last few meetings of Term 4, students had just started their Year 9 courses for 2026. Students were given by Ms Maddison, their assessment Booklet for Year 9 including discussing what the ROSA is and its impact on Year 9 students. As well as Mrs Ing, who discussed her role as Careers Adviser and how they can start what career path they are considering and especially work experience information which is coming for them.

In 2026, students will start to feel more grown up with their elective choices and the content in the compulsory subjects. There will be Challenges along the way. Get ready for harder schoolwork and more responsibilities especially with your Assessment Tasks and meeting deadlines. Goodluck!
